All of our wines are unfiltered and unfined, ensuring the purest expression of the grape.  Because pinot noir is such a delicate grape, we do not use pumps; we use 100% gravity during harvest, crush, press, and bottling, to preserve the subtle nuances of the wine. And half of the fermentation bins are done with indigenous yeast.

Many customers call this our signature wine, made from 3 clones, primarily from our oldest 1.5 acre Bay Block.  Rusty Gaffney, The Prince of Pinot, said it best: “WOW!  Stunning aromatics of red and blue fruits, plenty of spiced fruit on a soft and clean platform...seamless...this one will bring you to your knees.”

2004 ESTATE PINOT NOIR, SPECIAL BURGUNDIAN CLONE
  COMPLETELY SOLD OUT
2005 to be released in early fall 2008
Available only to Wine Group members
Released August 2007
Tended exclusively by Jim, this is the first vintage from this special half-acre block. This clone, a rarely propagated French pinot noir clone is not available in the U.S.  Its taste is similar to its Burgundian counterpart: rich, concentrated, layered and unique in its flavor profile.  Expansive nose, intense aromas of plums, black cherries, carries through to the palate with complex, yet subtle layers of unfolding flavors, including dark cherry, plum, orange peel and raspberry.  Lingering finish, long supple tannins and flavors of dried cherry and black tea.  Extremely age worthy, and should continue to evolve for at least 8-10 years.

26 Cases ~ Aged 27 months ~ 100% new French oak
$95/bottle, includes special Windy Oaks wooden box
Available only to Wine Group members
2 bottle maximum
